About us
The Qing lab develops nanopore sensing technologies to unravel the molecular complexity of biological systems. We are motivated by the need for new analytical approaches to characterise biomolecules beyond nucleic acids—such as proteins, glycans, and metabolites—which carry critical and complex functional information in their molecular compositions that are not fully accessible by conventional methods.
Building on the foundational success of nanopore DNA/RNA sequencing, our research aims to broaden the analyte scope of this powerful single-molecule platform. Our work is inherently interdisciplinary, integrating synthetic biology, protein engineering, chemistry, and biophysics.
