Opportunities
Our work is highly interdisciplinary, crossing organic chemistry, chemical biology, and biophysics. We welcome applications from talented and motivated individuals at all levels - Part II, PhD/DPhil, postdoctoral candidates, and potential visitors. Please contact Yujia directly at yujia.qing@chem.ox.ac.uk.
DPhil and MRes
If you are interested in pursuing a DPhil or MRes in the Qing group, you can apply through the University of Oxford graduate admissions system: www.ox.ac.uk/graduate. Please note that applications must be submitted via the official system.
When applying for the DPhil or MRes in Chemistry, please indicate your interest in the Qing group so that your application can be directed to us.
Further information on graduate study and scholarship opportunities is available on the University website. Previous students in the group have been supported by schemes including the China Scholarship Council–Oxford programme, Croucher Foundation, Taiwan–Oxford programme, and Wadham College-matched studentships.
We participate in the following doctoral training programmes, which offer funding for UK and overseas applicants:
- Oxford Inorganic Chemistry for Future Manufacturing (OxICFM CDT)
- Interdisciplinary Life and Environmental Science Landscape Award (ILESLA)
- Engineering Biology (Doctoral Programme)
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Funded postdoctoral positions are advertised on the Chemistry Department website.
We are currently advertising 3 positions. Details can be found on the Department of Chemistry website: https://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/jobs
We also host postdoctoral fellows funded by the following sources:
- The Royal Society Newton Fellowships
- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships
- Glasstone Research Fellowships in Science
- EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowships
- Oxford Colleges Junior Research Fellowships
Prospective postdoctoral candidates are invited to contact Prof Yujia Qing directly with a cover letter detailing their research interests and a CV.
Part II
We take Part II students from both Department of Chemistry and Department of Biochemistry. Prospective Part II students are invited to attend Open Days to learn more about the research carried out in our group, or to contact Prof Yujia Qing directly.
Summer intern
We welcome summer interns (>10 weeks) from outside the UK. Please get in touch before early April if a visa is required. We support application for stipends for summer internships for undergraduates in UK institutes.
